Influence of Parent's Level of Income on Student's Enrolment in Secondary Schools in Rachuonyo East Sub-County, Homabay County, Kenya

Low enrolment rates in secondary schools have been experienced Homabay County, particular Rachuonyo East Sub-County. The purpose of the study was to establish influence family socioeconomic status on students Secondary Sub-County, County. A total 13,786 respondents were targeted comprising 25 Principals, 9 Chiefs, 1 Sub-County Education officer, 5400 parents, and 8350 students. sample 355 comprised 14 Officer, 15 316 sampled for this study. researcher used simple random sampling schools' students, while purposive applied principals, Sub- County officer. depended questionnaires an Interview guide Educational officers, parents. Piloting research instruments done 10% size. Test-retest technique test reliability instruments; Cronbach Alpha compute instruments' at 0.7. To ensure validity instruments, developed under close guidance supervisors. Dependability credibility are enhanced instruments. After data cleaning, quantitative coded entered into computer analysis using Statistical Package Social Sciences (SPSS) Version 21 windows which analysed through descriptive inferential statistics presented percentages, frequencies, coefficient correlation, respectively. Qualitative themes narrative form. Based findings received from study, it evident that families had effect east sub-county.
